July 3, 2023

Dear Members of the Connecticut College Community,

I am writing to let you know that Robert Knight, an experienced senior financial and business management expert in higher education, will become interim vice president for Finance at Connecticut College. He will begin his new role on July 19.

Robert, who currently is an independent consultant serving higher education clients, received a bachelor of arts degree from Ohio State University and a master of business administration degree from Case Western Reserve University. He has more than 30 years of experience in finance and administration leadership roles at public and private colleges and universities in the United States and Canada, including the University of Northern British Columbia, New York University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Oberlin College and Case Western Reserve University.

This appointment, along with the recent hire of Ken Knight (no relation) as the assistant director of Budget and other restructuring within the department, will restore much needed bandwidth to the finance team.

Please join me in thanking Amanda Mayfield, our associate vice president for Finance, for her service as interim vice president this past semester and in welcoming Robert to Conn.  The search for a permanent leader to oversee the division will resume after the College’s 12th president is appointed in spring 2024.

Yours,

Leslie Wong
